3 Fun Children’s Activities Near The Vanguard
Plan a day of fun with your kids right in Chelsea! We found three children’s activities all within a block of the Vanguard.
- MoMath Museum: The award-winning National Museum of Mathematics aims to show how mathematics surrounds us, highlighting “the role of mathematics in illuminating the patterns and structures all around us.” There are interactive exhibits and unique programs (including author events). Especially intriguing are: The “Math & Magic” mini-course which showcases how card tricks involve mathematics – and sessions on the math behind Blackjack! Your children will learn – and so will you. (Of course, you can pretend you knew everything all along.)
Concert for kids in Madison Square Park: Kids are encouraged to dance or sing along to The Madison Square Kids Concert Series which is free! Head over next Wednesday morning (August 15th) from 10-11am to see The Not-it’s! perform!
- Arts & Crafts Classes at Micheal’s Craft Shop in Chelsea. Choose from “Back to School Crafts”, ” Kawaii Canvas Art” “Magical Wall Art” – even slime making! (It’s a popular thing!). You won’t be short on child-created home decor – or slime!
After a morning of learning or creating, it’ll be great comfort to follow it with a delicious lunch of Southern comfort food. Hill Country Chicken has the ultimate treat meal: A special recipe fried chicken with sides like Pimento Mac & Cheese, Cheesy Fried Mashed Potatoes, Queso Fries or a Buttermilk Biscuit, finished with a decadent pie dessert made in hand-sized portion.
