At The Poster House you can see the elegant, the original – and the strange…

@posterhousenyc: “Remember the days when Grove’s tonic made “children and adults as fat as pigs,” and that was a good thing? No, me neither – but happy #ThrowbackThursday !”

The Poster House is celebrating in advance, with a Pop-up exhibit and party. “Gone Tomorrow” will take place Wednesday, September 20th.

“New York has always been known for its quirky underground cultural happenings, one-off low-fi events, and iconic hotspots where those in-the-know could gather. But the lifespan of anything in New York is brief, we grow accustomed to seeing old favorites close down, and neighborhoods rise and fall. Our collective nostalgia increases steadily.

Gone Tomorrow features posters from iconic venues and cult events that make up the fabric of the city’s history. The exhibition will mark the conversion of the space on 23rd Street from TekServe – itself a New York institution for those with technology woes – to Poster House, and visitors will be invited to join us for cocktails and wander the raw space before demolition begins.”
