Mickey Moves to Chelsea!
This fall, in Chelsea, you can remember the influence a particular Disney character had on you – and on famous artists.
An immersive experience, “Mickey: The True Original Exhibition“, celebrates 90 years of Mickey Mouse’s influence on art and pop culture with 16,000 square-foot exhibition featuring both historic and contemporary work from renowned artists.
One of key attractions is Kenny Scharf’s Mickey Mouse-themed Cosmic Cavern, explored in the 360° video tour below.
“Inspired by one of Disney’s first licensed products, the Mickey Mouse watch, this Cosmic Cavern transforms the classic timepiece into an immersive, day-glo, fluorescent, blacklight world.”
(“Be sure to look over, sideways, up and down to discover all of the magic.”)
Opening November 8th, and running until February 10, 2019, the exhibit takes place at 60 10th Avenue Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am – 8pm.
As Warren Spector put it, “Kids, adults, men, women, everybody has a relationship with Mickey Mouse.”
