Retro Feel and Keen Cocktails – at New Local Bar
A new 60s-theme cocktail bar – serving scrumptious pizza – has opened at the entrance of the High Line (at 446 West 14th St)! And it’s been lauded for its hip, retro factor, luxe art collection (including a Salvador Dali), and reasonably-priced drinks.
“Space-wise, Morrissey’s going hard on the look of The Woodstock. Paintings from surrealist mastermind Salvador Dali will be on view, a rotating crew from a collection of 24 original paintings owned by the restaurant.”
James Morrissey’s establishment’s “big sell is that all cocktails, which will change seasonally, cost $10.”
Light My Fire (Sauzo 901 Tequila, Curacao, Lemon, Blueberry Habanero), Good Vibrations (Banhez Mezcal, Yellow Chartreuse, Kiwi, Pamplemousse, Agave, Lemon, Yes Prosecco) and Yellow Submarine (Bombay Dry Gin, Martini Riserva Ambrato, Suze, Peach Bitters).
As for pizzas, they are all Neapolitan style:
“Signature pies include the Jackie: with tomato, mozzarella, sopressa, parmigiano, pecorino, peperoncini peppers, hot honey; the Twiggy Semi Dried Cherry Tomatoes, Artichoke, Meatless Fig Salami, Oil Cured Sicilian Olives, Roasted Garlic, Fresh Parsley; and the Woodstock with mozzarella, pecorino, escarole & cannellini bean puree, guanciale, fennel pollen.
All pizzas are $15.
