Spotlight on SVA

Last time, we mentioned SVA Theatre since it was one of the main venues of the New York International Children’s Film Festival.  Did you know how much more the venue has in store?

A Chelsea treasure, SVA hosts a variety of events year-round, many of which are free and open to the public.

Coming up in March alone:

In addition to an animation night, various film screenings, and the premiere of a music video, SVA also presents:

    • 2X: An Evening of Storytelling: In this storytelling series, 8 inspirational women – all experts in their fields – tell the tales (5-10 minutes in length) of “a pivotal moment in their journey that helped them get to where they are today”.
    • Kaleidoscope: Word & Multimedia Variety Show: Described as a mini-art fest as well as “a heady mix of video, spoken word, musical and theatrical acts”, this show involves both SVA alumni, students and faculty.
    • Emerging Voices 2018 is a series of lectures which “spotlight individuals and firms based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico with distinct design voices and the potential to influence the disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, and urbanism.”
    • The Cynopsis Short Form Video Festival & Conference showcases “fresh and surprising storytelling across platforms” along with panels and networking events.

Plenty more to come in April too: Like the “2018 Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival“!
